McElmon Lodge

Many people have asked about details for the lodge. On this page please find details about our newest building. McElmon Lodge was built in the late 1980's, but this last year went under a renovation. If you have not been down to camp since February 2005, the lodge looks quite nice now. Although the layout is the same, the look and feel of the building is now quite different.

Most people, when they arrive in the non-summer months enter through the kitchen. It is the closest door to the parking lot. In the renovation we put down a new floor, put in a new ice maker, added a commercial coffee maker, and tiled the countertops. This is still a commercial kitchen that can cook for approximately 50 people.

The next place you will probably explore is the main room. This is probably where you will notice the most changes. The walls are now painted "Coral," but this room also received new lighting, new carpet, a new stereo and DVD player (still has the VCR and TV, but they are now mounted up on the wall), new bookshelves, new whiteboard, and new fabric on the couches. To go along with the wall color we also choose new artwork for the walls.

If you will be spending the night, or using the bathrooms in the building, you will also see the bedrooms. Each bedroom was painted in a different color. The layout is still the same (approximately 6 beds per room), with a sink in the main room and a toilet and shower in an attached bathroom), but with new carpet and new paint, they are very nice.
