Welcome to Camp Albemarle

Located on the banks of Bogue Sound, Camp Albemarle's thirty-nine acres offer guests an opportunity to experience the wonder of God's creation in a beautiful coastal setting. The camp is a ministry of The Presbytery of New Hope, Presbyterian Church (USA) and has been bringing people closer to God and each other since 1953.

Camp Albemarle is the ideal place for churches, schools, and other non-profit organizations to have retreats, camps, picnics, and meetings.

Our facilities are closed to outside groups during June and July while we run our summer camping program. During the rest of the year the camp can accommodate up to 138 overnight guests.

Recreational opportunities available to guests include an outdoor Junior Olympic size swimming pool, sports field, a basketball/tennis court, volleyball courts, a group challenge course, tetherball courts, canoes, and sea kayaks. Please call the camp office for policies and availability.

Reservation

Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please call the camp office to check availability.

McElmon Lodge

Built in 1992, our newest facility sleeps up to 42 people and is heated and air-conditioned. There are 7 bedrooms with six beds and a bath in each room. The Carraway Room serves as a meeting room and dining area. It has a gas log fireplace and a cozy sitting area. The fully equipped commercial kitchen is available for your use. The front porch has the most comfortable rocking chairs on the Crystal Coast and one of the best views of Bogue Sound in Carteret County.

Cabins

Our six semi-rustic cabins have magnificent water views, concrete floors, and sleep up to 16 people. All cabins are heated and are divided into two rooms. Each room has 4 sets of bunk beds and a ceiling fan. When you stay in the cabins, you use the very modern, ceramic-tiled bathhouse and the dining hall with a commercially equipped kitchen.

Day Rental

The Dining Hall is heated and has a tile floor. It can comfortably seat 144 people around tables. The fully equipped kitchen and adjacent bathhouse are included in the rental fee.

The Pavilion can seat 80 people at picnic tables, has a beautiful view, and usually enjoys a nice ocean breeze. The fee includes use of the bathhouse and does not include kitchen use.

Meals

Kitchen facilities are available for overnight guests at no additional charge. Several local restaurants are available to cater your meals if you prefer. A list of local restaurants and caterers is available upon request.

Deposits

Deposits are required with a signed contract and must be returned to the office by the date specified on the contract. If a reservation is canceled more than 60 days in advance of the scheduled date, or if the camp office can schedule another group in your place, you will receive a refund of your deposit less a $50.00 service charge.
