About UsCamp Albemarle occupies a beautiful site on Bogue Sound, a part of the Intracoastal Waterway and affords opportunities for Christian worship and nurture in an informal, natural setting surrounded by God's beautiful creation. We are located within 20 minutes of Fort Macon, the N.C. Aquarium, and the N.C. Maritime Museum, the Carteret County Museum of History and Art, Historical Beaufort by the Sea, Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle and Morehead City. Call the camp office if you would like more information on any of these attractions.
We are a non-profit organization owned by a Board of Trusteers in cooperation with the New Hope Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Thirty-nine acres located on the banks of the Bogue Sound offer campers the chance to explore a coastland estuary abundant with living sea creatures. Pelicans, egrets, crabs, mullet and an occasional porpoise all like to visit camp. Nearby Gales Creek offers an excellent opportunity for a leisurely and educational canoe trip. Camp Albemarle is the ideal place for church retreats, private parties, school seminars or family reunions. Although the summer months are occupied with our summer camping program, our facilities are available to groups during late summer, fall, winter and spring.
Each of our six heated cabins sleep 16 in bunk beds and are divided for accommodating boys and girls. If you stay in our cabins, you will use our modern ceramic tiled bathhouse. You will have access to our commercially equipped kitchen and the large dining hall.
We currently do not provide food service, however a list of local restaurants and caterers will be provided upon request, and we will help you with arranging this if you would like. Day use groups have access to our beautiful pavilion, bathhouse and recreational activities. The camp has a junior Olympic size swimming pool, low ropes/challenge course, soccer field, basketball court, volleyball courts, Tetherball, canoes and kayaks.
