The Camp Albemarle Experience
Camp Albemarle offers overnight camping experiences for children and youth of all faiths and denominations. Our mission is to provide opportunities for children to explore their faith in a safe, fun, and meaningful environment. All of our activities – waterfront, sports, creative arts… are all designed to help children build relationships with each other and with their Savior. It is our goal that all campers will:
- experience a joyful week in which they feel secure and well cared for
- challenge themselves physically and spiritually
- go home with a deeper understanding of their faith and a sense of Christian commitment
- build new friendships with campers and staff
Summer Camp 2012
Junior Camp: Rising 2-5 Graders
Tuition: $430
Dates: June 10-15, June 24-29, July 15-20
Bring your energy and excitement with you when you come to Camp Albemarle's Junior Camps. Junior campers live in cabins with up to 13 other campers and two counselors. Campers use our modern tiled bathhouse and eat together in the dining hall. They rotate through daily activities with their cabin and a co-cabin. In the evenings everyone participates in all camp games like a carnival and Wells Fargo. Daily activities include arts and crafts, sailing, swimming, Bible study, cabin devotions, and lots of other fun games.
Middlers Camp: Rising 6-8 Graders
Tuition: $430
Dates: June 17-22, July 1-6
Adventure, fun, and fellowship await you at our Middlers Camps. Experience all that Camp Albemarle has to offer with cool counselors and lots of new friends to meet. Middlers live in cabins with up to 13 other campers and two counselors. Campers use our modern tiled bathhouse and eat together in the dining hall. They delve deeper into issues of faith and relationships through small group Bible study and daily activities such as sailing and the challenge course. In the evenings everyone participates in all camp activities like Smugglers and Skit Night.
Two Week Camp: Rising 6-8 Graders
Tuition: $865
Date: July 22 - August 3
If you love camp and cannot get enough in one week, our two week camp is just for you! The two week camp includes everything that you would normally do in a Middler camp plus plenty of unique activities that are sure to surprise and challenge you. Two week camp gives campers even more time to develop lifelong friendships with campers and counselors, enhance activity skills and explore faith themes! Come join in the exciting activities of the summer’s only two week camp.
Last Blast: Rising 7-12 Graders
Tuition: $430
Date: July 8-13
Last Blast camp offers all of the fun of the Middlers Camps in a laid-back atmosphere. You will get to stay up late, sleep in, and choose what activities your cabin wants to do. Challenging Bible studies will provide you an opportunity to get to know others, yourself, and your God.
Mini Camp: Rising 1-5 Graders
Tuition: $215
Dates: August 5-7, August 8-10
Are you a first time camper, or just someone who is not quite ready for a whole week away? This camp is designed with you in mind. A special shorter camp, packed full of fun and learning. You will get to stay in a cabin with up to 13 other campers and two counselors, and try all of the main activities we offer during a full week of camp. Daily activities include arts and crafts, sailing, swimming, Bible study, cabin devotions and lots of fun games.
Adventure Camps
Sea Kayak Camp: Rising 7-12 Graders
Tuition: $620
Date: July 22-27
If your journey is leading you to an unobtrusive way to connect with God through nature, come discover the quiet joy of sea kayaking. Experienced, professionally certified instructors will teach technique and safety before guiding trips around Huggins Island and Bear Island, both in the mouth of Bogue Inlet. Campers will also enjoy an overnight trip to a barrier island. This camp requires a good level of fitness since it is physically demanding. This program is offered in cooperation with Barrier Island Outfitters.
Backpacking Camp: Rising 7-12 Graders
Tuition: $500
Dates: July 8-13, July 29 - August 3
Come learn basic backpacking skills and explore great natural areas including areas such as the Croatan National Forest and the island of Shackleford Banks. Backpacking camp gives campers the opportunity to balance physical journeys with spiritual quests. Recognizing that walking God’s path is not always the easiest, devotional time will help campers intentionally reflect on their personal journey. Day hikes as well as an overnight experience will be included.
Service Team: Rising 7-12 Graders
Tuition: $460
Dates: July 15-20, August 5-10
Want to have fun AND make a difference? The Service Team will provide campers with the opportunity to work with human service and environmental agencies to help make God's world a better place. Campers will work at various sites during the day and enjoy time at camp in the evenings.
